Conjunctions and transitions are two types of words used in writing and speaking to connect ideas, sentences, and paragraphs.
Conjunctions are words that connect words, phrases, or clauses that are of equal importance in the sentence. Examples of conjunctions are and, but, or, for, nor, so, and yet. They can be used to show addition, contrast, cause and effect, purpose, or conditions.
Transitions, on the other hand, are words or phrases used to show the relationship between two ideas or sentences. They signal a change or movement from one idea to another. Examples of transitions are however, therefore, furthermore, in addition, nevertheless, consequently, and meanwhile. Transitions are useful for making writing more cohesive and organized, and for guiding the reader from one point to another.
Both conjunctions and transitions are important parts of writing and speaking, and are used to create flow, coherence, and clarity.
